Food Insecurity in the United States

As of 2014, 15.3 million kids in the United States struggle with food insecurity. The USDA defines food insecurity as a state in which consistent access to adequate food is limited by a lack of money and other resources at times during the year.

Children who regularly do not get enough nutritious food to eat tend to have significantly higher levels of behavioral, emotional and
academic problems.
